2007-2009 National Service Project: Communicate Access through Community Action

The mission of Zeta Phi Eta’s 2007-2009 National Service Project is to improve communication access for all people in our society and to raise community awareness through community action.

The following ideas are just some of the infinite possibilities of how to participate within the scope of  Zeta Phi Eta’s 2007-2009 National Service Project – Communicate Access through Community Action.

Host an “Awareness Day” for your local community, work with local or national media to improve the quality of closed captioning for their programs, encourage organizations to provide interpreters for community activities or volunteer at a local nursing home reading and assisting in the care of patients.

The sky is the limit! Become part of the action and make a difference in your community and across the nation. For  further information about the National Service Project,  feel free to contact Lisa Chiango, National Service Project Chair, at LChiango@gmail.com.   We would be interested in hearing more about the projects happening in your chapter.  Please check for updates on the National Service Project section of the Zeta Phi Eta website at  www.zetaphieta.org.

As a NSP Committee member previously, Lisa has been working on the development of the National Service Project since last August.   Her goal is to continue incorporating what Zeta is already doing at our individual chapters and across the country.   We know you have probably been working on different projects for years, etc. but we want all Zetas to hear about what you are doing.   Please share your experiences and stories from chapters and your communities, contact me with questions, and express your concerns.  Communicate with National Council about all the wonderful ways you are helping the world… We want to share your project ideas with fellow Zetas so that they will be inspired to continue with the tradition of community service.
